
Jim Talbott, LCSW, MBHA’s Executive Director and Clinical Director, has been in the social work field since 1984. He received his master’s degree in social work from the University of Denver. Upon arriving in Maine he worked at Shoreline Community Mental Health Services (now Sweetzer) in the community support program for people with mental illnesses and in the adult psychiatric program from 1986 to 1995. After working for another community-based agency and at the Augusta Mental Health Institute, Mr. Talbott founded Merrymeeting Behavioral Health Associates, Inc. in March of 2001.
Hi my name is Denise Deveaux. I am the Accounting Manager here at Merrymeeting.
Hi- My name is Brenda Stinchfield. I am the Human Resources Manager here. I have worked in HR for much of my career. I enjoy working with people as well as improving systems. I am delighted to be working here at MBHA. In my spare time I enjoy kayaking, hot air ballooning. In the winter, I am an avid skier and snowmobiling is my passion.

Barbara Moore is the Adult Services Administrator. Barbara keeps track of all the referrals as well as making sure that the APS (Managed Care Authorizations) occur in a timely fashion. She also helps clients with questions they may have. For fun Barbara enjoys kayaking the lakes and rivers of Maine, keeping her garden in top order and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Hi, I am Jamey Lemar. I am the Quality Assurance Manager. I come to Merrymeeting with strong Organizational Skill and a fine work ethic. I live to organize the charts and make sure that we are meeting all of the licensing standards. In my spare time I love to travel. I have been on several cruises and have enjoyed them all.

Bonnie York is our Program Manager for Adult Services. She comes to us with an extensive history in adult mental health services. She has worked in social clubs, crisis intervention, case management, and in-home supports. She achieved her Bachelor's Degree in Rehabilitation from the University of Maine at Farmington. During her free time, she enjoys taking care of and playing with her pack of dogs (a herd of ten at last count). She enjoys the outdoors, reading and is an accomplished pumpkin carver. Most of all she has the experience and drive to develop teams that believe in treating all people with dignity and respect.
Carrie Baker is the Children’s Program Manager. Carrie came to Merrymeeting in 2006. She started out as an in home support worker in the children's program. Within about a year she was promoted to Team Leader and most recently has been promoted to Program Manager. Carrie is a strong advocate for the children and families she serves. She has been a steadfast member of the Merrymeeting team. Carrie is the mother of one and she has just purchased her first real home in January 2010.
Hey there- my name's Andrew Nelson, I am the IT manager. I am the one they come to when they have issues with their computers. I have been around computers ever since I could reach the 8-track player so that I could re-program it. I love the challenge of making technology work the way that we want it to function. In my spare time I enjoy computers and my cats.
Alexander Katopis ~ Clinical Intern ~ I have been in the social services field for approximately seven years. During my professional career I have held positions as a direct care professional, assistant director, case manager, team leader, and clinical intern. I have been employed at children’s group homes, hospitals, private boarding schools and for profit/not-for profit businesses. I have earned a Associates degree in Business Finance and Management from Endicott College, a Bachelor of Science in Social and Behavioral Science from University of Southern Maine, and I am currently pursuing my Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (LCPC/LADC) at the University of Southern Maine. I have a year left until I graduate with my Masters and hope to pursue a career as a clinician. I love working for MBHA and it has been the most exciting, educational and informative employment of my career.

Hi, this is Donna DeLano. I have been a Team Leader for the Brunswick area for about 2 years now. I have to say that I really love this job and this company. In my spare time I love to go to the Maine fairs. A recent excursion to the Freyburg fair was especially fun.

Emily Cobb ~ Team Leader- Brunswick. Greetings, I’m Emily. I’ve traveled to mysterious places and seen wondrous things. I have been a SCUBA diver, secretary, apple & blueberry picker, librarian, teacher, Artist, published writer, wife, mother, chauffeur, hostess, waitress, and consultant. I’ve been the Service-learning & America Reads Coordinator for KVCC, been the assistant to a Homeless Youth Project with VISTA, and volunteered many places and for many causes. I love life and giving my strength and talents to help people, to change things for the better, to make a difference, even a small difference, is all I need or want.
Hello, my name is Sam Stancil and I was born and raised here in Maine. I have experimented with living elsewhere (Florida & South Carolina) but have found there truly is no place like home! I am an Adult Team Leader for the Lewiston/Auburn areas and a mother of two. Although I am extremely busy with the everyday rat race of life I find time to spend with my family, shop for bargains, and lay on the beach whenever the sun is shining. I have been in the support services field for six years and couldn’t see myself doing anything else. I start everyday excited to go to work and I am a proud member of the MBHA family.

Lillian Carver is the Adult Team Leader for the Augusta team. Lillian comes to us with extensive experience working in the mental health field. Lillian started her career working at the University of Maine. She then used her organizational skills to work in residential programs and In Home Support programs.

Mary Mullens is the Adult Team Leader for the Rockland/Coastal Team. Mary comes to us with extensive experience working in the mental health field. Mary started her career working with clients in her home with mental illness and then worked at the Augusta Mental Health Institute from 1986 to 1993. After taking some time off she then started working again in the Mental Health field in the In Home Support Program and then went on to become a Team Leader. For fun Mary likes to go hunting and spend time with family and friends.

Mike Flood is the Adult team leader for Somerset County Upper Kennebec Team. He started out in various social clubs where he thoroughly enjoyed teaching clients to cook. Mike has also worked in a variety of group homes and with adults in the In Home Support programs as both a MHRT-1 and MHRT-C. Mike has a reputation for having a very good sense of humor as well as being very interested in sports. He also makes a mean whoopee Pie.

Amy Rice Amy Rice: I am the Team Leader for the Coastal Region of the Children’s Program at MBHA. I started with MBHA as a part-time Habilitation Specialist, while I continued to work full-time at another agency as their Job Development Coordinator. I started full time at MBHA in May 2009. I have worked with both children and adults with developmental disabilities in residential, employment and volunteer settings. I have received certifications as a Direct Support Provider, Behavioral Health Professional and an Employment Specialist. I am in the process of completing my Bachelor’s in Social Science and have plans to pursue a Master’s in Social Work in the future. I enjoy snowmobiling in the winter months anywhere in Maine, and my summers are spent four wheeling, in the garden, and being my nephew’s biggest fan as a race car driver at Wiscasset and Unity Raceways. I enjoy spending time with my family, and have two wonderful sons that have careers in the fishing industry: one building boats, and the youngest as a stern man on a lobster boat. I enjoy reading a wide variety of topics, and probably have enough books to start my own library. I am fortunate to have my family and friends and the immense knowledge that they are willing to share. I was born and raised in the Midcoast region, and currently reside in Walpole with my fiancé Shannon and our two Labrador Retrievers.

Hi, my name is Baley Hatfield. I work in the finance department. I usually work on billing and payroll, making sure that everyone gets paid the right amount on the right day. Lately I have been getting some additional training on finances and financial management as we streamline these functions at Merrymeeting. It's all really exciting here right now. In my spare time right now I am making plans for my wedding next year. My fiancé and I just moved to a really nice house in Freeport.
